Metamorphosis differences of caudiciform plants as an adaptation to arid conditions

چکیده
In the course of evolution, formation succulent variations in underground and surface parts plants different taxa could occur simultaneously under influence similar abiotic factors, particular as an adaptation to arid conditions, structural features even distant families are a manifestation convergent evolution. Along with this, development such adaptive structures ontogeny can ways taxa. Studying anatomical morphological vegetative organs Fockea edulis (Asclepiadoideae, Apocynaceae) at early stages ontogenesis comparing them those other will improve understanding growth caudex-like plants. The research was conducted on seedlings, juvenile immature F. edulis. When three representatives Apocynaceae family, we found that strategy traits organ level is characterized by active hypocotyl already seedling stage, Adenium obesum, subsequent expanded basal part stem due combined cortex-pith thickening radish-like root xylem parenchyma. However, Petopentia natalensis mesophytic seedling. It established secondary occurs two individual ways: cambium generates solid rings phloem parenchymatized xylem; P. edulis, bundle type conducting elements preserved. tap A. obesum.

Genomic dissection of genotype x environment interactions conferring adaptation of cotton to arid conditions.
The interaction of genotype with environment is of primary importance in many aspects of genomic research and is a special priority in the study of major crops grown in a wide range of environments. Water deficit, the major factor limiting plant growth and crop productivity worldwide, is expected to increase with the spread of arid lands. In genetically equivalent cotton populations grown under...

Evaluation of the SALTMED model for sorghum under saline conditions in an arid region
SALTMED model has been developed to predict yield, soil salinity and watercontent under saline conditions. A two year field experiment was carried out during2012-13 to calibrate and validate the model for sorghum. Plants were irrigated withsalinity levels of 2, 6, 10 and 14 dS m-1. Results showed that there were significantdifferences between the observed and simulated sorghum dry matter (SDM) ...
